VALUED CUSTOMERS & FRIENDS+
As hot as it has been, this month has been really cool to us!
We are so grateful to the Westside USGBC-LA steering committee for inviting Cassy to discuss how authentic foliage protects LA. The discussion with these extraordinarily knowledgeable professionals re-invigorated us!
We were also overjoyed to see so many of you posting about our need to discourage pesticide use at our schools. We have long refused and discouraged use of Round-Up out of concerns for the health of our clients, teams, and Monarch survival. We too want to know The Kid is safe from these hazards when back at school!
Last but not least, the news that beach rewinding has succeeded in restoring butterfly habitat makes our hearts flutter!
We hope you had a similarly uplifting month and look forward to seeing you at upcoming events!
Sincerely,
Cassy and Kirk
It’s been hot. LA is still a cool place to be.

We’ve never had dog days of summer quite like these. Stay cool, and do what you can to give your natives a rest too.

Blooming Now
Think you just want to stay in the AC? There are so many reasons to head outside! For inspiration, check out who is Blooming Now!

Sustain Your Garden
LA’s beach beauties from Seaside Daisy and Beach Strawberry to Coast Dudleya will thrive throughout LA, but, like us, they need shade and hydration. Keep water at the root or soil level, as wet leaves more easily burn.
Think you have a native that needs resuscitation? It’s possible she just needs a nap.
