We’ll give you and your garden our very best for the holidays. Here is how we’ll keep you celebrating:
Harvest winter veggies like fennel and parsnips
Keep gardens structured and thriving:
- Prune conifers and other deciduous trees and deep-feeding citrus trees
- Continue to cut back thriving natives and native grasses as they experience growth spurts
- Divide grasses
- Lay a cloth over sensitive succulents if you expect freezing temperatures
- Plant, mulch, plant, plant and mulch!
Protect homes by maintaining outdoor water systems:
- Turn off irrigation controllers, thanks to rain!
- Clean gutters and check waterways in preparation for rain

Landscape Leader Retires
Bruce Inman, the head of buildings and grounds with the City of Sierra Madre retires this month. In his final year serving the community, he brought the Authentic Foothill Gardens at Sierra Madre City Hall to fruition. We will miss you Bruce!
Behind the Scenes at TPF
Cassy Aoyagi and Theodore Payne Executive Director Kitty Connolly led a behind the scenes tour of the nursery in November. Tours are first Saturdays of each season.
