Angelenos are optimistic problem solvers. Yet, even we can get a little cranky with our ever-evolving mix of calamities from time to time, particularly when they seem intractable.
When we feel frustrated, overwhelmed or off-balance, we take the most productive action we can take in that moment. For us, of course, that usually involves a garden. As grocery prices rise, we plant more edibles. As fire season nears, we act on our defensible space. As the kid and dog start whinging, we throw open the door and explore.
As we look back over our lives together, we see it is these small, not-enough-in-the-moment actions that have solved the problems we thought were too big, too complex, too fast moving for us. This is how we know we will get through this together LA, and we will be better, stronger and more beautiful when it’s all said and done.
