Plant Greater Beauty and Resilience with Sunland-Tujunga Forward!
Date: Saturday, April 12, 2025
Time: 8:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Location: Northeast Sunland-Tujunga Median
Save the date! We’ll join Sunland Tujunga Forward and community volunteers to install lush, low water native foliage in the highly visible median at the northeast entrance to our community. We’re tickled to have the opportunity to make our “vibie” community even more beautiful!

Please wear close-toed shoes, colorful clothing or a vest. Bring work gloves, a filled reusable water bottle, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses to protect you from the sun! Water, snacks, tools and trash bags will be provided courtesy of ST Forward and Council District 7.
Once this space is planted, Sunland-Tujunga will have bookends of hyper-local native foliage on Foothills Boulevard. The garden will complement the Sunland Welcome Nature Garden and Wildflower Annex on the west and harness a similar fire defensive palette featured at LAFD Station 74.
We hope you’ll come dig-in with us!
Plant Palettes
See plant palettes that reflect the “vibie” community of Sunland-Tujunga below. T palette to the left includes the plants we’ll install in the Tujunga Garden of Resilience and Inclusion on the northeastern entrance of Foothill Boulevard. The palette on the right forms a well-established welcome on the western side near the junction of the 210 Freeway and Sunland Boulevard.
