VALUED CUSTOMERS & FRIENDS+

We are still floating on cloud nine for our time with the Kaufmans and so many of you during the Native Plant Garden Tour.

Did you miss us? Come see us! If you didn’t make it to Sylmar, you can still find us in Sierra Madre, Santa Monica and more this month. Without exception, you’ll get to see LA’s authentic, super-blooming beauty everywhere you see us!

Hope to see you among the blooms soon.

Sincerely,

Cassy and Kirk Aoyagi

LATEST NEWS+

After a long, cold, wet winter, things are finally heating up. Let’s head to the beach!

Isara Ongwiseth: Hilda Weiss and Wayne Lindberg perpetually evolve their Urban Wildlife Habitat, taking inspiration from their hikes to water the oak tree sapling they adopted in the Santa Monica mountains.

Join us for The Garden Conservancy’s Open Days, a nationwide garden tradition, to see their latest updates as well as several other lovely Santa Monica Gardens.

FormLA Design Team: Visit historic Ocean Park homes with past KCRW DNA host Frances Anderton via the Venice Design Series. What an unusual treat!

You’ll learn context for the neighborhood’s extraordinary structures and spaces spaces, including The Santa Monica Conservancy’s Preservation Resource Center. See a Sneak Peek

SUSTAINABLE TIPS+

Our clients often develop such fascination with their gardens, they become experts in native plant maintenance in their own right. We love sharing their tips!

FormLA Maintenance Team: Hilda Weiss maintains two tour gardens that define Santa Monica’s distinctive, authentic beach beauty. One public. One private. We spoke to her about what it takes. Read More

FormLA Maintenance Team: Have you received a notice from your fire agency? Chances are, you will be required to create a Zone 0, five feet of ember resistant materials, around your home.

Until May 1, The Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains (RCDSMM) will offer grants for this work. Apply for a Grant

BLOOMING NOW+

Some started early. Some are still on their way. If your April is simple, you are in for a spectacular May!

While many usual April blooms seem to be waiting for warmer weather, we see Pitchers Sage throughout the county.

Here is what is likely to begin Blooming Now

TEAM UPDATE+

As much as we enjoy growing plants, growing our friendships with you is what most deeply delights us.

Elaine and Toby Kaufman, thank you for generously opening your beautiful fire defensive ranch, for your expertise in its care, and for taking such good care of our docents!

We love to see our past tour hosts on tour! Thank you to the Forbes and Taylors for your support and camaraderie!

Thank you to our friends with RCDSMM, Theodore Payne Foundation, and our own wonderful team for spending the day engaging and educating.
