West Pasadena Residents Meeting

Unleash the power of your neighborhood

Date: June 4, 2026

Time: 5:30-8:30 pm

Location: Maranatha High School Student Center (Map)

Within the comb of the 64-year old West Pasadena Residents Association (WPRA), four new National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Firewise USA Communities have formed since January of the 2025. The WPRA’s annual meeting will include a conversation about how these communities enhance resident safety and resilience, led by the NFPA’s regional director.

Our own Cassy Aoyagi will join a panel of distinguished fire defense experts in a discussion of how LA communities, including West Pasadena, can work together to protect themselves. The panel will include:

Keynote Speaker: Chad Augustin, Fire Chief, Pasadena Fire Department

Daniel Rossman, Executive Director, One Arroyo Foundation

Daniel Rossman brings more than 20 years of experience in public policy advocacy, coalition building, and environmental conservation. He has led landmark efforts to protect over one million acres of California public lands, including the establishment and expansion of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument. A west Pasadena resident, Daniel is involved locally having served on multiple commissions and is a proud member of WPRA.

Moderator: Gabriel Albarian, NFPA Firewise USA Los Angeles County Regional Coordinator.

As volunteer Regional Coordinator for Los Angeles & Ventura Counties, Gabe has successfully signed up over 75 communities.  As the only civilian volunteer member of the Los Angeles County Fire Department Taskforce, Gabe has gathered $250,000 investment from LA County Supervisors. Also, as part of the Taskforce, he participates on the Community Risk Reduction Project aka SHIELD, providing education and resource allocation throughout the County. He is a Director on the Board of the Santa Monica Mountains Fire Safe Council. He has served as President of the Homeowners Association Board of Directors since 2022 for the City of Westlake Village.

If you live in the WPRA area, we hope to see you there! In addition to the panel conversation, panelists will take questions from the audience and FormLA team members will be there to share additional time and insight with members. Here is the Full Agenda and the WPRA’s latest news.
